In collaboration with the “Dušan Milošević – prvi srpski olimpijac” association (named after one of the very first Serbian Olympians), the NOC celebrated Olympic Day on 17 May in the village of Stragari, the birthplace of Milošević, who took part in the Olympic Games Stockholm 1912. Hundreds of participants of all ages took part in races of 6, 12 and 24 kilometres, while younger participants, aged 6 to 15, completed in 100m runs.

The celebration was joined by two-time Olympic taekwondo champion Milica Djuričić, who is NOC Vice President, and Olympic shooters Teodora Vukojević and Lazar Kovačević. Djuričić also visited the recently renovated Memorial Room dedicated to Dušan Milošević.

The renovation was made possible with the support of the NOC and Olympic Solidarity. The participants were also invited to join the nationwide Olympic Day Challenge through the NOC’s mobile app. This challenge encourages the whole country to run 5, 10, or 21km in celebration of the IOC’s anniversary. The winners will be announced on 23 June, Olympic Day.
