The Albanian NOC and National Olympic Academy organised the Olympic Day celebrations in the ancient stadium of Amantia, one of the oldest archaeological sites in the country.

Held with the support of the Municipality of Selenica and many personalities from the Vlora region, the ceremony began with the symbolic carrying of a flame by world and European weightlifting champion Enkileda Carja, athletics champion Franko Burraj and a number of children from school sports teams.

Top athletes and young sports talents also took part in the celebrations, as did NOC President Fidel Ylli. Polyphonic and folk songs were also on the programme, complementing the “Vajzë Festë 2025”, a traditional annual celebration in the Vlora region.
