The Olympic Committee of Serbia celebrated its 113th anniversary at the “Moskva“ hotel in Belgrade, the place where it had been founded on February 23 in 1910.
Respecting the long-standing tradition, the President of The Olympic Committee of Serbia Božidar Maljković and the Minister of Sport Zoran Gajić laid a laurel wreath on the memorial plaque in front of the Moskva hotel.
President Maljković and the young athlete, Luka Jašić, winner of the silver medal in short track at the winter EYOF 2023, cut the traditional Olympic cake together. Special guests at the event were the Minister of Education, Science and Technological Development, Mr. Branko Ružić; the mayor of Belgrade, who during his professional water polo career played for two Olympic bronze medal squads and one Olympic silver medal squad, Mr. Aleksandar Šapić; the ambassador of the Republic of Poland – the host country of the next European Games, Mr. Rafal Perl and family members of the founder of The Olympic Committee of Serbia, General Svetomir Đukić.
On this occasion, the President of The Olympic Committee of Serbia Mr. Božidar Maljković announced the participation of Serbian athletes at the third European Games to be held in Krakov Malopolska this June. The guests welcomed at the event included both current and former Olympic medal winners and Olympians, representatives of the Government, diplomatic missions, sponsors, partners, and media.
