Meetings with the Organising Committee, in the presence of the Mayor of Pristina, Perparim Rama, the Kosovo Olympic Committee and representatives of the country’s government, took place in an excellent atmosphere. The strategic plan for the development of the Games’ Master Plan provided the ICMG delegation with a clear picture of the overall project, particularly regarding sports development and investments related to the legacy of the Games.

The Organising Committee retained the option to propose two to three additional sports, selected from the following: Baseball5, Canoe Sprint, Kickboxing and Skating.

A presentation was also made on the central planning for the allocation of sports venues where the competitions will be held. It was agreed that all athletes and officials will be accommodated in the Mediterranean Village in Pristina, and that all venues will be located within a maximum distance of 45 km from the Mediterranean Village. This will minimise travel time to and from venues, while also reducing logistics and transportation costs.
Furthermore, the Organising Committee must ensure that all semi-finals and finals of the Sports Programme will take place in Pristina and that all selected venues will be approved by the relevant International Federations.
Significant progress has also been achieved in the establishment of the Organising Committee, while the study on the Games’ legacy was received with very positive comments.
During the meetings, an ambitious proposal for the volunteer programme and the Games Academy was also presented, and it was confirmed that the budget for the years 2026 and 2027 has been secured.
The International Committee of the Mediterranean Games expects to receive the updated Master Plan by the end of March 2026, including the list of venues and the exact distance and travel time from the Mediterranean Village.
The updated version of the Sports Programme and the venues’ Master Plan must be finalised by the end of June 2026.
Finally, during the next visit of the Coordination Commission, scheduled for May 2026, on-site inspections of all proposed venues will be carried out.
