A total of 3434 athletes from 26 countries, will take part in the 19th edition of Mediterranean Games, from June 25 to July 6.
Italy has the largest delegation, consisting of 565 members (athletes and officials), out of a total of 5156 participants (officials included) attending the Games of Oran.
It will be followed by Algeria (host country), with a delegation of 522 people including 193 men and 136 women athletes. Next are France (496), Turkiye (460), Spain (408), Egypt (294), Tunisia (263), Greece (252), Serbia (244), Portugal (237), Morocco (220 ), Slovenia (198), Cyprus (174), Croatia (172), North Macedonia (109), Bosnia and Herzegovina (79), Albania (81), Kosovo (69), Lebanon (65), Montenegro (49) , Syria (49), Malta (43), San Marino (36), Monaco (30), Libya (25) and Andorra (16).
Twenty-six countries are involved in the 24 sports and 244 events, included in the general program of this 19th edition Mediterranean Games, two of which (Wrestling and Weightlifting) will allow participating athletes to earn additional points for their world ranking, in anticipation of a qualification for the Olympic Games in Paris.
In addition to the 24 disciplines, the Organizing Committee, together with the International Committee of the Mediterranean Games, has integrated three sports into the general program as a demonstration sports. These are chess, para-athletics (100m blind, 1500m/T45, 46 and Motor), and Teqball.
