The International Committee of Mediterranean Games is deeply saddened at the news of the passing of José Manuel Constantino, President of the Portuguese National Olympic Committee.
Constantino, a dedicated servant of the Mediterranean sports family and the Olympic Movement, passed away in Paris during the Olympic Games at the age of 74.
Having served as the President of the Portuguese NOC since 2013, Constantino played a pivotal role in the development and promotion of sports in Portugal. His leadership and vision were instrumental in strengthening the Sports and Olympic Movement within the country, fostering the growth of athletes, and ensuring their successful participation in the Mediterranean Games and other international competitions.
On behalf of the Mediterranean Family, ICMG President Mr. Davide Tizzano and Secretary General Mr. Iakovos Filippousis sent the most sincere condolences and deepest sympathy to his family, friends and colleagues.
