The canoe athlete Saul Craviotto and swimmer Mireia Belmonte will be the flagbearers of the Spanish team at the opening ceremony of the Olympic Games in Tokyo on 23 July.
The Council of Olympic Federations of the Spanish Olympic Committee (COE) met at the organization headquarters and unanimously approved the nomination of the two athletes to lead the parade of the teams on the opening night of the Games.
Saúl Craviotto and Mireia Belmonte have four Olympic medals! The canoe athlete, two gold medals, one silver and one bronze and the swimmer, one gold, two silver and one bronze.
For the two athletes, the Tokyo Olympics will be their fourth Olympic Games. Belmonte is the President of the Athletes Commission of the International Committee of the Mediterranean Games.
