The Olympic Committee of Bosnia and Herzegovina hosted the commemoration of the 41st anniversary of the Sarajevo 1984 Winter Olympic Games at the Olympic Museum in Sarajevo. On this occasion, the book 40th Anniversary of the Olympic Games in Sarajevo was promoted, which, through photographs, highlights key moments from the celebration of the 40th anniversary and reflects on the Olympic legacy.

Several participants of the Sarajevo ’84 Winter Olympics attended this event, including former Olympian Tomislav Lopatić, who competed in the biathlon discipline at the Games. Lopatić is a member of the Nordic Ski Club “Romanija” Pale, has competed in two Olympic Games and the World Cup, and is now the coach of the Biathlon National Team of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

A panel discussion was also held on the topic The Olympic Future and the Reconstruction of Olympic Venues. The panelists included academician Prof. Dr. Izet Rađo (President of the Olympic Committee of Bosnia and Herzegovina), Kenan Magoda, Dr. Sanela Klarić (an expert in sustainable architecture and Olympic venues), and Predrag Puharić (Mayor of the City of Sarajevo).

“It is with great pleasure that we commemorate the 41st anniversary of the Sarajevo 1984 Winter Olympic Games, an event that left an indelible mark on all of us. On the occasion of the 40th anniversary, a book was published that vividly captures the memories, challenges, and victories that marked this jubilee. This book is not only a tribute to the past but also an inspiration for future generations of athletes and Olympic spirit enthusiasts. We believe that the memory of Sarajevo 1984 will encourage us to continue working on sports integration and the advancement of the Olympic ideal,” said the President of the Olympic Committee of Bosnia and Herzegovina, academician Prof. Dr. Izet Rađo.
