The Tunisian National Olympic Committee (CNOT) celebrated the Olympic Day 2020 under the sign “White Blouses and Sports Family, Champions of the Nation” in recognition of the combined efforts of the medical and paramedical staff, the Ministry of Health, the Youth and Sport Ministry and elite athletes in the fight against the coronavirus pandemic.
The “Champions Sport-Health” trophy specially designed by the CNOT was awarded to 80 persons like doctors, nursing assistants and sports champions who contributed to the awareness campaign during the confinement period, including the Olympic champions Mohamed Gammoudi and Habiba Ghribi and the Rio 2016 star medalists Ines Boubakri and Marwa Amri.
The Tunisian National Olympic Committee President Mehrez Boussayene also presented the trophy to the Minister of Health, Abdellatif El Mekki, the Minister of Youth and Sport, Ahmed Gaaloul and the World Health Organization representative in Tunisia, Yves Souteyrand for their common commitment to consolidate the role of sport in promoting health for all ages on the path to building a healthy and balanced society.
