On Olympic Day, Spanish NOC President Alejandro Blanco was in Getafe to visit the centre run by the Spanish Refugee Assistance Commission (CEAR). In 2017, the NOC signed a cooperation agreement with the CEAR to enable
refugees to have access to sport and its values.
It has since encouraged the construction of a sports centre to this end. During his visit, Alejandro Blanco caught up with the progress of construction work and donated sports equipment to some of the refugees.
