The new Deputy Sports Minister, Lefteris Avgenakis, underlined the full support of Greece to the organization of the Mediterranean Beach Games of Patras.
Mr Avgenakis, right after taking over his new duties, call for an extended meeting regarding the Mediterranean Beach Games, in the presence of the ICMG Secretary General Mr Iakovos Filippousis and the CEO of the Organizing Committee Mr Ilias Dalainas. During the meeting, he underlined that he has a complete view of the organization and its needs and he noticed the great engagement of the new Greek government to the Mediterranean Beach Games, giving priority to the warm reception of Mediterranean sport family.
Mr. Avgenakis asked from the Organizing Committee to strengthen the efforts and speed up the pace of preparations, as only 40 days remain until the opening ceremony, in which Patras, Achaia and Greece must show to the world of sports that they are capable to host sport events of great significance.
The Deputy Sports Minister also urged the Organizing Committee to reinforce the communication policy in order to encourage the society and the volunteer movement of Patras and its region to participate in this great sport competition, clearly indicating to all who are involved, that there is no time to lose and that they must join forces to organize high-level Mediterranean Beach Games in Patras.
