The Libyan Olympic Committee organized the celebration of the Olympic Day with a large public turnout and the participation of nearly a thousand athletes of various ages and disciplines.

The festival was held as part of the annual celebration of Olympic values, which are excellence, friendship, and respect. It also aimed to emphasize the importance of sports as a way to improve physical and mental health and to spread a culture of tolerance and peace among people.

The events kicked off at the Al-Andalus waterfront with captivating aquatic sports shows, including swimming, rowing, sailing, and triathlon. The competitions continued in the evening with a road race that started from the Tripoli Port Island and finished at the Tripoli Sports Park, coinciding with a series of sports shows and displays by various federations and clubs.

The festival featured a remarkable variety of activities, including more than twenty sports such as football, volleyball, gymnastics, equestrianism, shooting, judo, boxing, badminton, chess, pétanque, kickboxing, taekwondo, karate, air sports, and table tennis.

In a action that reflects the Libyan Olympic Committee’s commitment to inclusion and equality, a significant space was dedicated to the participation of athletes with disabilities. They excelled in judo, goalball, and table tennis competitions, particularly the visually impaired athletes, which added a special human dimension to the celebration.

Numerous sports federations and clubs also had a prominent presence. This reflected the unity and integration of the Libyan sports community in an event aimed at solidifying the principles and ethics of sports.
