The Extraordinary Commissioner for the Taranto Mediterranean Games, Massimo Ferrarese has officially authorized the Municipality of Taranto to build five padel courts within the construction site of the future skate park, which is intended to host padel competitions during the international sporting event.

The project, with a total value of approximately €850,000, will be financed through savings generated by auction discounts and funds initially earmarked for unforeseen expenses in the economic framework of the skate park project.

According to the plans, work will begin immediately after the administrative process for awarding the contract has been completed and will be finished in time for the start of the Games.

This decision not only represents a fundamental step toward ensuring the competitions can take place but also constitutes a long-term strategic investment: the new courts will significantly enhance the city’s sports infrastructure, providing Taranto with a modern and multipurpose facility well beyond the duration of the event.
