COP presents to the Minister of Sports a plan to strengthen the Portuguese sports system

The ICMG Coordination Commission Prishtina 2030, chaired by the ICMG Executive Committee member Mr. Julian Pace Bonello, paid an official visit to Prishtina from 27 to 29 July 2025.
During the two-day visit, the ICMG representatives, in the presence of the ICMG Secretary General Mr. Iakovos Filippousis, held meetings with the leadership of the Kosovo Olympic Committee, President Ismet Krasniqi and Secretary General Besim Aliti, representatives of the Government of the Republic of Kosovo, including the Minister of Finance Mr. Hekuran Murati and the Deputy Minister for Culture, Youth and Sports Ms. Daulina Osmani, and the Mayor of Prishtina Mr. Përparim Rama, with the aim of reviewing the status of preparations for the largest
sporting event ever to be held in Kosovo.


Discussions focused on the current challenges and the establishment of the Organizing Committee “OCMG” Prishtina 2030, which will consist of representatives of all national stakeholders, i.e. the NOC Kosovo, the Government of the Republic of Kosovo and the Municipality of Prishtina, and which will be chaired by the President of the NOC Kosovo Ismet Krasniqi.
The Government of the Republic of Kosovo reaffirmed its full support to the successful organization of the Games and its unwavering commitment to the continuous funding of the biggest project ever implemented in the Country, as presented in the candidature file.
The Mayor of Prishtina confirmed the institutional support for projects and investments related to the Municipality of Prishtina, in order for the City to welcome and host more than 15.000 guests, Games time.
At the end of the visit, it was announced that the Coordination Commission will report on the progress and recommendations of this visit to the ICMG Executive Committee at the meeting which will take place on 28 November 2025 in Portimão, Portugal.
During the forthcoming ICMG Extraordinary General Assembly, to be held on 29 November 2025, the Prishtina 2030 OCMG will present to the ICMG Family the progress of the preparations and the Master plan of the Games.
