The ICMG Executive Committee during its latest meeting held in Ljubljana on April 12, 2025, unanimously approved the ICMG Safeguarding Framework and Policy as well as the appointment of an IOC certified Safeguarding Officer from a Mediterranean country for the XX edition of the Mediterranean Games, to be held in Taranto in 2026.

Following this decision, the International Committee of the Mediterranean Games has the great pleasure to announce the appointment of Mrs. Maja Peković (MNE) as ICMG Safeguarding Officer for the Taranto 2026 Mediterranean Games.

Mrs. Peković, Head of the International Relations Department and Deputy Secretary General of the Montenegrin Olympic Committee, and Secretary General of the Teqball Federation of Montenegro, has a long experience in sports competitions and events as well as in Marketing, Communication and PR activities. She has been a certified IOC Safeguarding officer since April 2024 and a member of the ICMG Solidarity, Culture and Education Commission since 2022.
