Τhe NOC of Spain and the City of Alicante have submitted an official candidature signed by both the Mayor of Alicante, Mr. Luis Barcala Sierra, and the President of the Spanish Olympic Committee, Mr. Alejandro Blanco Bravo, for the 5th edition of the Mediterranean Beach Games in 2031. The Bid file was also submitted within the deadline set in the candidature process (October 31st, 2024).

In accordance with the ICMG rules, there will be a first presentation of the candidature of Alicante at the next meeting of the Executive Committee that will be held in Taranto, Italy, on December 14th, 2024.

During this meeting, the ICMG ExCo will also announce the composition of the Evaluation Commission, which will visit Alicante in early 2025 and present the evaluation report to the ICMG ExCo and Members, in view of the next ICMG General Assembly.

The election of the Host City of the 2031 MBG will take place in 2025 during the ICMG ordinary General Assembly to be held in Portimão and Lagoa, in Portugal.
