Giorgos Chrysostomou re-elected President of the Cyprus Olympic Committee

During the 44th General Assembly of the Cyprus Olympic Committee, Giorgos Chrysostomou was re-elected President of the Executive Council with 29 votes (76.3%) beating Panagiotis Kontides who took nine votes.

Alexandros Christoforou was elected Vice President with 30 votes. Yiotis Ioannidis, who is the Treasurer of the International Committee of Mediterranean Games, was elected to the position of General Secretary.  Yiannos Fotiou was elected COC Treasurer.

In the elections of the seven Members of the Executive Council, the positions were taken by Efthymios Polydorou (36), Giorgos Papageorgiou (35), Christodoulos Christodoulou (35), Kostas Konstantinou (34), Sotos Trikomitis (31), Lenos Kyriakou (29), and Giorgos Georgiou (28).

“We continue modestly and humbly as ambassadors of Olympism, promoting timeless principles and values, supporting our athletes and looking to the future with optimism. Heartfelt thanks to the Federations for their trust and creative cooperation”, said Giorgos Chrysostomou after his election.

ICMG President Davide Tizzano and Secretary General Iakovos Filippousis congratulated the President and Secretary General of the Cyprus Olympic Charter with a letter in which, among other things, they state:

Moreover, for the ICMG, the election of an active member of its Executive Bureau to the position of the Secretary General within the NOC is a great honor.»
