Bozidar Maljkovic, one of the most important coaches in European history, enters the Spanish Basketball Hall of Fame. In the gala that took place in Seville by the Spanish Basketball Federation and the newspaper As, the former coach and now president of the Serbian Olympic Committee (OKS) was rewarded with this great honor.

Boza is a basketball legend, four times European champion, with the mythical Jugoplastika in 1989 and 1990, with Limoges in 1993 and with Panathinaikos in 1996. He was also the coach of famous clubs such as  Barçelona, Real Madrid, Unicaja and Baskonia.  He has also won numerous club trophies. With Barcelona, he won the King’s Cup (1991), with Unicaja he won the Korac Cup (2001), while with Real Madrid he became Champion of Spain (2005). Furthermore, he was the sporting father of basketball legends, such as Toni Kukoc and Dino Radja in the former Yugoslavia.

Bozidar Maljkovic’s name will be inscribed in golden letters among basketball legends in this promotion of 2023, with Pau Gasol, Felipe Reyes, Luis Scola, Dirk Nowitzki and Pedrad Danilovic.

“When I was informed that I would enter the Spanish Basketball Hall of Fame, I was very happy because the people who lead the strongest league in Europe recognized my work, commitment and behavior. Entering the Hall of Fame is magnificent. I am sharing this recognition with all my players from Barcelona, Real Madrid, Baskonia and Unicaja. I was very pleased when the players I coached mentioned me in their speeches. I want to emphasize that this recognition is joint with the Olympic Committee of Serbia and the Basketball Federation of Serbia” said OKS president Božidar Maljković.
