The fifth anniversary “Golden Olympia” dedicated to the most successful women in sports was held at the Holiday Inn Hotel in Skopje. The event is dedicated to the exceptional achievements and contributions of women in Macedonian sports, athletes whose work and results have left a strong mark on the sports scene.

This event continues to be an important platform for the affirmation of women’s sports and encouragement of future generations of sports talents.

This year, Milijana Reljic was selected as the best athlete by the Macedonian Olympic Committee. The “Golden Olympia” is once again in the hands of the taekwondo athlete, which is an incentive for even greater success next year and a medal at the 2028 Los Angeles Games.

Reljic won silver at the G-1 tournament in Kristianstad, Sweden, which earned him 7,20 Olympic points, and also won a medal at the international tournament in Innsbruck, Austria, to climb the Olympic rankings.

The women’s national football team under 17, which managed to reach the first position in the qualifying tournament (League B) and qualified for the A League for the European Championship, was awarded the “Best Women’s National Team”. Katerina Mileska, who led this national team to top results, was chosen as the “Most Successful Coach”.

“Most Successful Sports Worker” is Gordana Nikolovska Kuzmanovska, for the organization of the European Youth Olympic Festival and the Skopje Marathon. “Most Promising Young Athlete” is Meri Boškovska, who achieved great success with the volleyball club Janta Volej Kisela Voda with a significant contribution reaching the third round of the CEV Champions League qualifiers.

“Most Successful Referee” Ema Nikočević, she is the first FIBA ​​referee from Macedonia, who this year marked her personal and professional victory, returning to the court after a difficult health battle.

The award for “Sporting Feat” ended up in the hands of Katerina Šipović, who was the best at the race in Serres with 202 kilometers run in 24 hours.

The “Lifetime Achievement” award this year went to the legend Stojna Vangelovska, a former top basketball player and the first Macedonian woman to win an Olympic medal, while in the media sphere, the recognition for “Most Successful Sports Media Worker” went to photojournalist Maja Janevska-Ilieva.

Fatmire Bajramoska, who won a silver medal in cross-country skiing at the Winter Special Olympics in Turin, Italy, was awarded the “Most Successful Athlete with a Disability”. The Handball Federation of Macedonia is the most successful federation in promoting gender equality for 2025 — a recognition that confirms the continuous dedication, equal opportunities and support for the development of handball without differences. Special recognition for female leadership and promotion of gender equality was received by Cvetanka Makarovski and Irena Mitrovska.
