COVID-19 has closed schools and the Taekwondo training centre in the camp, but the sisters are still honing their skills. Rayan was the first girl in Azraq to get a black belt and Zeinab is determined to emulate her. ; Azraq camp in northern Jordan is home to some 40,000 Syrian refugees. In line with government measures to prevent the spread of COVID-19, restrictions have been introduced on movements in and out of Jordan’s refugee camps. UNHCR remains on the ground ensuring the continuation of essential services such as supermarkets and health facilities. Supermarkets and corner shops in the camps are open between 10am and 6pm, like in the rest of Jordan. Refugees returning to camps will be required to stay in self-isolation for two weeks in newly-built quarantine shelters and Rubb halls to prevent the spread of coronavirus to the camp's population.
