The Algerian Olympic and Sport Committee, like the National Olympic Committees around the world, celebrated the International Day of Sport for Development and Peace with the race “Peace and sport” on Saturday 06 April 2019.

The patron of this event is the Olympic champion Ms. Nouria BENIDA MERAH.

The first edition of the “Peace and Sport” race took place at the level of the Office of the Olympic Complex “Mohamed BOUDIAF” – Stadium “SATO” – Algiers in the presence of the Minister of Youth and Sports, Mr. Raouf Salim BERNAOUI and Mr. Mustapha BERRAF, President of the AOC and the ANOCA and Mr. Mustapha LARFAOUI, honorary member of the IOC.

After having brandished the “white card”, the starting signal of this race was given by the Minister of Youth and Sports.

This race was attended by a thousand participants, young and older people as well as former athletes who ran throughout the course of 3 kilometers. The runners were all dressed in a T-shirt with the mention “Peace and sport”.
