Italy had the best performance among the Mediterranean countries on the 3rd day of the European Games “Minsk 2019”.

Italy won four gold medals and climbed  to the 5th place in the medal standings. The first gold came from the mixed team in archery with Lucilla Boari and Mauro Nespoli. In the final, Italy defeated Great Britain by 5-1.

Gold in road cycling took Davide Ballerini. In shooting, Silvana Stanco climbed to the highest place of the podium in the trap with 46 hits, a new European record. Her compatriot Jessica Rossi was second in the same discipline. The fourth gold took Hassane Fofana in 110 hurdles running in 13.40.

France has three gold medals and is in the 7th place of the medal standings. On the 3rd day of the European Games, two judoka, Claudia Agbegnenou at -63 kg category and Margaux Pinot at -70 kg took gold medals.

From the rest Mediterranean countries, Portugal, Slovenia, Serbia, Croatia and Kosovo have one gold.
